APPLY TO BE A WORKSHOP FACILITATOR

We want to provide workshops that validate the identities of those within the Midwest Association of Filipino Americans and allow them to analyze and consider their own personal goals, opinions, and values.

Our individual Rebirth may be done through: - Introducing/expanding on intersectionality - Emphasizing the roots of our identity as Filipinx Americans - Creating visibility as the “minority within the minority”

The workshop you decide to facilitate should be connected to our theme Rebirth, and therefore fall under one of these categories: Session 1: "So Like, What Are You?" (i.e. Filipinx Identity & Experiences) Session 2: "Asians Don't Experience Racism" (i.e. Activism, Social Justice) Session 3: "Being a Model Minority Is a Good Thing" (i.e. Filipinx-Americans in today's society, sources of inspiration, being a leader, etc.)

We chose these microaggressions as a form of satire and with the intention that our workshops will counteract these themes.

Need ideas on what to create workshops on? We're looking for topics regarding the following: - Arts & Culture - Awareness & Activism - Leadership & Profession - History - Health - Identity

Any other questions or concerns can be directed to the workshop coordinator head: Gail Cedro on Facebook or at the email cedrogai@msu.edu
